Oregon driving laws?
I live in oregon and my liscense is suspended temporarily, My girlfriend is learning to drive...she has a permit and insurance on the car and drives safely and is not a risk to other drivers whatsoever, My question is if we get stopped by the police and shes driving with me in the car what will happen? In oregon with a permit you are supposed to drive with a liscensed driver whos over 21, I am 24 she is 19 and we are insured...im just wondering if we will be in big trouble or if it is a totally bad idea, with a small amount more driving time under her belt she will be ready to get her liscense and i just dont want her to get into trouble. Thanks

If you want to pay a big ticket keep on doing it.

It is a totally bad idea. If you are in an accident, despite being listed as having insurance, insurance will cover nothing, even if the other person is at fault as neither of you is a legally licensed driver.

You both may be cited as not having valid insurance because only LICENCED drivers can have valid insurance.

If stopped by the police it is highly likely her learner's permit will be revoked until she is 21 and any probation you may be on will likely be revoked also (if you are on probation that included jail time, you are likely to be ordered to serve the original sentence). The car will likely be impounded.

You should have a valid license in order to accompany a 19 year old driver. Thus, you will be validly apprehended by the police officers if flagged down for random inspection.

Since your lisc is suspened you are not a liscensed driver. You could both get in trouble in pulled over.

At the moment, you do not qualify as a licensed driver. If she is pulled over, she has violated the terms of her permit, and it could be revoked.

It's a horrible idea. She won't get her license and you may be arrested.
