Obviously, I am NOT stealing anything. I dont know why this is happening. The censor goes off with SOME stores, not all. It bothers me so much where its to a point where I dont want to shop anymore. First I thought it was my purse, so I changed purses, but that is not it. What I usually have in my purse is my cell-phone, glasses, wallet, and hair brush. And I know none of these can make it go off..and I had all of these items with me before and it would never happen..it isnt until recently the alarm censors would go off! Some people say it might be my clothes that have attached censor, but I have already checked and there arnt any tags! HELP! SO EMBARASSING!

What can happen, is if u have bought batteries even from the same shop, it can trigger the alarm, not sure how it does this, but it's happened to me before, also if u have a rented dvd, and u go through the shops, it can also set off the censor, other than that i'm not sure, perhaps it could be some metal or something on your clothes, or a bar code sticking out?

This has happened to a friend of mine and she thinks that it can be her cell phone or tags in her shoes. Sometimes if you have a book with you or something that can have a censor from the store can set the alarms off, which has happened to me.

Sometimes stores like Old Navy or Gap sew into their clothes the sensors that they beep when someone steals them.
What happens is that sometimes people forget to cut off the tag when they wear it making them beep when they come in and out of a store. It also has to do with whether the person who sold you the item removed the sensor or not from the item.

Some store use radio frequency tags or tape sewn into a garment. When you buy them they are supposed to de activate them but sometimes they may not . You may still have one of the tags on one of your garments. Look to see if you have one that feels hard and usually it will say remove after purchase. If not check along an enclosed side seam or back of the neck if you feel something slightly stiffer than the fabcic, that may be it . Most are made froma thin layers of foil bonded onto plastic. Cosmetic companies often tape them onto packages so you may want to check to see if you have one stuck on the bottom of something in your bag

You are ONE lucky LADY! Just have a friend carry a camcorder around with her, and go around setting off the alarms. If it's that embarrassing, and considering, that you're apparently a female, it should be relatively easy to break down and cry uncontrollably. Make sure your friend captures it all on video, and then go to any competent trial attorney.

Just remember: I get 10% of the award!

This has happened to me too. some stores use magnetic sensors, and i changed everything such as my purse, and it still went off. finally i found out that it was from the wires and metalic parts in and on my bra, such as the underwire or the part that controls the length of the straps. apparently, the magnetic sensors didnt react well to the wires. so i changed my bra to a different type, and it no longer beeps. I hope this helps!

Please don't feel bad. It is just not your fault. It is just some thing wrong with the setting of the censor. You can try to writ to the person in charge or just fill in a customers suggestion/ evaluation form @ just drop by to the office. I am sure they will immediately fix the problem :> dun be so annoyed, keep calm, SMILE~* Isn't the world now more beautiful?

its something your carrying.

maybe its in your shoe.

I use to get tags stuck to the bottom of my shoes and when I walked through it would go off and I would never notice them.

I'd say its a magnet of some sort doing too possibly

Did you have a prosthetic limb.

braces?

like this
As a service to retailers, some manufacturers embed security tags in the packaging of their products, or even inside the product itself.

I've seen them where the tag is sewn into the clothes (like the gap and old navy) and you never really notice them unless you look very very carefully between the fabric. Maybe yours is still on your clothes.

oh yes, I forgot, If they stop you and ask you questions you can take them to court for harasment or something like that. Most places let you walk through with out asking huh? thats because they know you can sue them. Go to Old navy and ask a few of them

Well Zac, why in the world would you even want to do this? Just to scare some shoppers and piss off the security guard? Or is it to get on youtube from the video they will have? It's very strange to me!

They are designed to read our innermost thoughts as well as those tags on the merchandise. So obviously you have deep dark thoughts about stealing if you could get away with it without getting caught. So the alarm goes off to notify security to watch you very, very closely and to let you know that they will catch you one day when your guard is down. Don't let it happen, prison is not like on TV.
