Everytime I give her a bottle she spits the milk out. Is it nasty? Should I try something else?

Are you sure she's hungry? Sometimes babies just do that and you just have to take a break and try again in a few minutes. If she continues to spit it out, try another brand of formula.

You might want to try and check the amount of milk flow coming out of the bottle. Nipples are made with different size openings that regulate how much milk the baby is getting. If too much is coming out she may be spitting out all the excess because it's too much for her to swallow. If that is not the problem you definitely need to call the pediatrician first thing in the morning and talk with him/her about this. Usually a baby will drink milk whether they are allergic or not so there may be some other reason why she won't drink it or something causing her to not be able to swallow it properly.

is this a new baby or older than a day or 2? if so, contact the pediatrician and be sure to have the answers to the following questions: how many wet diapers are there per day? how much formula do you serve the baby? how much is left in the bottle at the end of the feeding? have you tried a soy based formula? if it's breastmilk, has there been a diet change? are you burping the baby frequently? did you try a different nipple?

Formula *is* nasty... but if its all she's had then she doesn't know any better. She probably needs a burp... and that can take some time. If the the shoulder/patting method doesn't work, try facing her away from you against your chest, with her legs tucked up tight against her tummy. a very *slight* bounce in your step as you pace back and forth.

What are you feeding her? If you are making formula, make sure you are making it correctly, and it's not too cold or hot. She's 4 days old? Make sure you are feeding her the correct amount the doctor told you. It's been awhile, but like 3 oz and burp her after every .5 or 1 oz. You have to make sure you burp her. You can also rub her tummy after she's done to help it settle. You may be giving her too much, or not burping her enough. You may be feeding her too soon. If she's crying and your feeding her because you think she's hungry, she may not be. Babies cry, it doesn't have to mean hunger.

She might have acid reflux or heartburn. Try feeding her while holding her at about a 35 degree angle, burp her every couple minutes while feeding, then give her time to digest before sitting her up.

Both of my boys were lactose intolerant. Got real gassy and were hard to feed reg. formula til we swapped to soy. Then were happy go lucky. Maybe talk to your ob and see if that might be an option to try.
