As a pretty conservative person, especially these days, I can't think of anything recent. That said, this hasn't always been the case (I can't believe I'm even trying on this question). The democrat party has some very righteous beginnings, you just have to research the history. Be fair, and also look up the history of the Republican party (you can actually ask the question on Ask.com). I'm playing for the Republican team and will do so until they stop representing my beliefs.

A question like this is setup by its very nature to instil hostillity between two different groups, and force them farther apart from eachother, when truly they have common goals and aspirations they may merely articulate them in different ways and have different ways of reaching these goals. Republican and democrats are more alike than they are truly different, we all as american want safety, peace, and stability. We merely have different ways of creating this world which we seek to create. WIth this I have given you your one beneficial thing that a liberal has ever done, I have educated you!

Gee, the last Liberal in office was Clinton...
-Gasoline prices below $1.00 per gallon
-From January, 1993 when Clinton-Gore took office, until January, 2000 — 7 full years — the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rose from 3310.00 to 10,940.50, a total of 230.5%. That's a compounded average annual return of 18.6%. The NASDAQ (OTC) market index — most of the robust, high technology growth companies that are America's future — has done even better, rising from 696.34 to 3940.35, a total of 465.9%
- Inflation was kept in check for that entire term and the recession that dveloped in BUSH Sr's term was wiped away.
- Foreign relations with most countires in the entire world were MUCH stronger than they are currently and the image of Americans werent that of a stupid, bumbling, drunken cowboy....as it is now (Thank you, Bush 2)
- I could go on and on, but I dont expect you to gain any value from what anyone elses from a different point of view (based on factual statisitcs) has to say.
Would you?

Couldn't have said it better myself Julian...
FDR is considered one of the greatest presidents we had. So much so he was elected FOUR TIMES!
By the way, if you were smart enough to read your history, REPUBLICANS PAST LEGISLATION THAT A PRESIDENT CAN ONLY BE ELECTED TWICE. Was that because FDR was doing a bad job, or because they whined about the fact they didn't have anyone GOOD to challenge him?
Start using what you have in your skull for once...

Given us someone to make fun of - laughter is the best medicine they say.
Truthseeker - you do realize that the credit you gave the liberals in the 50s-60s that Republicans were in the White House for 13 of the 20 years. You give liberals way more credit than they earned, Plus half the credits you earned were by one president in the late 40s - early 50s. funny, thanks!
