A good, recent roof preferably less than 7 years old. House hunting in rainy weather is preferred so you can see any leaks, water damage or flooded basements. Check all the ceilings for water marks/leaks. Good plumbing. Not just the fixtures but the actual plumbing under the house. Check the water pressure when the water is turned on in other parts of the house, turn it on in the opposite part of the house. You can hire a house inspector for all your needs and questions. Check for termite damage in/on any exterior wood areas. Also look for any cracks or fissures in the exterior and interior walls, foundation and support beams and don't forget the electrical system.
Sorry for all the advice. Been there, done that. A house must have a good foundation and a solid structure before you start looking at bathrooms, kitchens, yards and pools.
Good luck and God Bless!

At least 2 bathrooms but they ain't got to be real nice.I don't plan on spending a lot of time in there.Just Sh*t,shave, and shower. My Kitchen would have to overlook my living room so I could watch T.V. while I cook.Just a bar separating the 2 instead of a wall is perfect. The stove and sink in the bar and all my kitchen work can be done while I watch football.

Funny you should ask! I say storage! We bought our first house knowing nothing, and didn't notice that it didn't have a single linen closet! We have no place for sheets or towels! It sucks!

It has to have grennery around it. Whether it be a yard with trees or just trees. I enjoy nature and I like my oxygen to be somewhat clean around me.
