My boyfriend went out and bought me a coach bag for my bd. Problem....I wear all white gold and the black purse has a brass button....he offered to exchange it before i see it or let me open it and then if I want we can take it back then and there. I just wanna know how big of a faux paux it is to combine the white gold with the brass....p.s. the brass on the purse is only a nickle sized button. p.p.s I don't own any yellow gold jewelry. THANKS

it would not bother me in the slightest. i don't usually match my hardware on my purses to my jewelry. If i did, I'd be changing up my purse every day. I switch between yellow gold and silver nearly every day.

plus that is not something I would even look at and go "wow, look at the non-matchy matchy jewelry and purse on that woman". you are just fine.

shocking....appalling.....get the smelling salts immmediately!

actually it's more fashionable NOT to be all matchy - different metals and finishes are very cool right now, and metallic detailing on purses is in.

no faux pax, no fashion emergency, we can all sleep well tonight after all. :)
