She is going through the change of life....it might take her a little time. I would suggest you try an undershirt, like a tank, that has a built in bra and/or a sports bra, something that will be a little more comfortable for her to start with. That way she wont feel all grown up. I develop in 3rd grade and I didnt want to wear a bra cause I thought that ppl would know I was wearing one and would make fun of me. Of course that didnt know and I was never made fun of. But I started out with sport bras.

I'm 14 now and I've been wearing a bra since the day I turned 13. Perhaps your daughter just doesn't like the kinds of bras you are showing her. Try taking her to a place like Victoria Secret and showing her the bras there. At first, I didn't think bras were comfortable at all and didn't think I would ever get used to them, but now I feel weird not wearing a bra. You might could tell her to try a bra for about a week to two weeks and if she honestly isn't used to it or doesn't like it still, you could stop bugging her about it for a while. I bet eventually she will come tell you she wants to wear a bra. Other girls do and she'll probably feel left out if she doesn't. Good luck!

I really would not worry about the problem. If you feel that you are still worried, then when she goes to the GP next have the doctor explain the pros & cons of wearing a bra. That may be a better approach.
You have explained about the possibility of sagging breasts later, but have you also explained about tissue and muscle damage relating to bouncing breast when she runs or plays sport? Also, you should also mention that incorrect fitting bras can cause back problems, shoulder pain, and is one MINOR contributing factor in potential breast cancer.
If, and when she starts wearing a bra, take her to a specialist store where the saleswoman can give her the correct fitting bra and explain that her breasts will change shape and size constantly throughout her life, even slightly each day depending on hormonal levels, and that she needs to keep adjusting her bras when necessary.

Well, how big are her boobs? That's an important thing!!! I started wearing a bra at 9 when mine first started to bud. However, by the time I was 12, I was in a D-cup!!! I had no other choice!!! It was totally uncomfortable to NOT wear a bra. Obviously she can get away with it. Just let er be and she will decide what's best for her. Also, you should look into those tops with built in bras and maybe she will like some of those.

Maybe the bras you're showing her aren't to her liking. I took my daughter to a lingere store and bought her the fanciest ones she wanted. They were plaid ones and leopard ones and lacy ones, but she was happy with that. Cost me a little bit of money, but it was worth it. So you need to quit insisting and let her be herself. If she wants to let the girls get saggy, that's her problem. Just be sure she wears clothes that aren't too revealing. That would be inappropriate at her age. Frankly, when she gets older and if she gets active in sports, the girls will just be in the way and she'll be glad for a sports bra. Nipples get sore when they're bouncing up and down against fabric.

Take her to a store. Victoria Secret has some cute bras for teens and show her the cute ideas and how some can look good undershirts. Have her try them on to get the feel and make sure she finds ones that are comfortable/

sounds like there is a battle brewing -who will be the winner???
there is no law stating that any female must wear a bra. they are uncomfortable, awkward, and expensive. your daughter has made an informed decision. encourage her independence and choice by accepting her decision. ask her if she would like to use an alternative -sports bra, bralet, camisole, etc. ensure that she is respecting her body and maintaining modesty.
accept your daughter as an individual and you will be able to maintain a good relationship as she grows away from you.

i had a cousin who was 12 who also did not want to wear any bra but when she started to exprience the consequences of not wearing a bra she stated to wear one.So my advice is leave her to time and may be she will want to wear one soon or when she hears her friends talking about bras she will want to bo included in the group so she will want to wear one too.
