A DVD drive (DVD burner or DVD-ROM reader, doesn't matter), and appropriate playing software. Most drives come with a copy of PowerDVD player (OEM) though you could download VLC Player or Media Player Classic (MPC) and use those as well.

well if your using XP and you have a DVD drive (you can usually tell by looking on thr front of th drive for the DVD symbol) you should be able to use windows media player. just pop the dvd in the drive and if it doesn't automatically run go to my computer and look for the title usually under drive letter D E or F. then right click and select play. It should by default play with windows media player unless otherwise configured. If not just open windows media player and go to file, open then select the drive in which the DVD is located. Oh and if you dont see the dvd under my computer you most likely have a bad drive or a non DVD drive...

well if you have a dvd-rom on your computer you should be able to put the dvd in the dvd-rom and whatever program is designated as the default player should come up automatically and start playing the dvd. otherwise you need to buy a dvd-rom drive. you can find some deals on dvd drives on the link below
