Not outdoors around bears much, eh?
Um, the last thing you want to do is put your food items in your sleeping quarters. Especially your own bed!
Put the food up high. Many camps have poles in the where you can hoist your coolers or other items up high enough to where bears can't get to them. Also, they provide bear resistant trash containers so that you can dispose of garbage.
Here in NC, and over in TN, there have been recent bear attacks, two ending up in deaths. And it's all due to bears straggling into human populated areas hunting food.
So put your food items in tight containers, and hoist them up as high as you can in a tree, or the provided poles, and you should be ok. But definitely don't put your food where you sleep! You'll end up with a furry buddy that you didn't count on!

Hide a menstruating woman in your sleeping bag instead, the bear with be busy with that, while you are enjoying your lil Smokies.

Only if you want it to rip you sleeping bag to shreads. I say put it in a cooler and hope for the best.

No silly ...hide it in your camping buddies sleeping bag! Just make sure he can't run as fast as you.

Well yea even if one does find it.You can just snuggle up with the furry teddy bear while sleeping.You'll be fine.
