Am just considering purchasing and not sure what the difference is.

Sirius Satellite Radio is The best choice and of couse is the best radio on radio lol! They both have the same amount of channels (69) and I feel that Sirius just plays the good stuff! I had XM for a while but then later switched to Sirius. The reason behind it was because of The Evil Clear Channel. Clear Channel took back 4 of the great XM Programed Stations Mix Kiss Sunny And Nashville then added commericals!!! When Satellite Radio Started XM Was King. But with Sirius Stepping Up Sirius gets better and better each day. With The Merger i really don't know what will happen. But For now we enjoy what we have! Try Sirius for 3 days at www.sirius.com and click trial. XM radio is also available for trial. But.... There are about 20 FREE XM Stations on AOL Radio.

sirius is the better of the 2 i have both and i listen to sirius far more than the xm and the merger isnt set in stone the fcc has to approve it sirius has far more live things going on than xm has and newer music xm music is looped too much

I am a howard stern fan so definately sirius. Oprah depresses me and she dominates the xm radio.

Well the for the longest time XM was the model of choice, as they had better protable units, but now with the merge pick one and you will get the other.

Right now I suggest XM, but as someone noted, the two companies may very well be merging soon. If this occurs, prices for units will noticeably drop.

agree that in past XM was the choice. With merger there should be no difference.
