You can have sex anytime -- even during your period, and anybody who says it's gross is not being very mature. The only time it's recommended by doctors that you don't have sex if you have an STD, if you don't want to become pregnant, have recently had surgery or some other medical procedure that could increase your risk of infection, or if you're pregnant and your water has broke. That's all I can think of.

Well there certainly isn't a gate that closes at that time of the month. I would only recommend this; If you are in a safe and monogamous relationship, the love you share is mutual and their is complete openness and honesty about your menses. Some men who are in an open and long term relationship accept this as part of their lover and certainly feel no animosity or repulsion to their lovers monthly cycle. I would warn you of a few very important things. One, the lubrication during menses is decreased and there for should be applied externally to provide maximum comfort. For the meat heads, no, blood does not provide a constant and consistent lubrication. Also, and most importantly, the risk of transmission of STDs dramatically increase with direct contact with blood. HIV for instance is carried most highly in the blood and may lead itself to higher transmission rates for penile/menses contact. So if you are with your monogamous lover in a long term relationship, you already know the answer. If you are partaking in a casual relationship, please use protection and know you chance for acquiring blood borne pathogens are increased. Good luck and keep it wrapped.......

Please don't have sex if your not
1. emotionally mature,
2. financially able to take care of yourself.
3. in a good relationship with someone who feels the same way you feel about them.
4. on track with your education and life is in balance.
Don't be too young it may seem like an in thing to do but if your too young it can mess you up as well.
You can have sex while having a period but remember you also wide open for infections use condoms at all cost protect yourself- take responsibility for yourself-care enough to protect yourself from Sexually communicable diseases.

Grow up folks. Many women have sex on their periods. If you're worried about a mess put a towel down or get in the shower.

Yes, there's no harm in doing it whatsoever, and it's also not unhiegenic (it's just blood anyhow). Be prepared for a mess though. Also, women's physiologies change during their cycle, and you may find sex uncomfortable during your period as your vaginal canal actually shortens (your cervix extends down towards the vaginal opening). Sorry for the TMI but it's true. Anyhow if you want to have sex, by all means don't let your period stop you.

I do. It's just messier, so put a towel beneath you. It all depends on the guy your with - if he is ok about blood or not.
TIP - It's less messy if you wear a tampon for a few hours before having sex, as the blood has to work it's way down.

You can. Some women actually find that they're more sensitive at this time of the month... it tends to get a little messy though, so you might want to put a towel down so you don't stain the sheets.

You can, and some studies show that having orgasms helps menstrual cramps, but you'll find that a lot of guys aren't willing to go there during that time. And I can't really blame them.
