2. Loser On Line.

the second meaning is used by older internet users, back from the begining of online gaming in the early 90's (Dial-up days)

It's basically stupid slang that "we teenagers" use on the internet for "Laugh Out Loud", sometimes used to show you are laughing.

Wikipedia is a fantastic and semi-formal way to understand internet slang.

You yourself might not be interested in using it at any time (don't worry.. many teenagers like myself don't use it at all, ever)

BUT...reading about it is quite fun.

Edit: Also, keep in mind some slang is used only in online videogames, while others are used on all parts of the internet (Instant Messaging, Forums, E-mail, etc)

Most often it is added to statements that are neither funny nor humorous . . .
