"As a member of the House Intelligence Committee, I am keenly aware that the proliferation of chemical and biological weapons is an issue of grave importance to all nations. Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."

i honestly think you answered your own question. she'll probably say something to the extent that, 'she and the rest of the country was misled by Bush and had she not been lied to by him then she would not have said Saddam has biological weapons.' it's going to be something like that because that's the way she rolls along with many others in her little group of friends. they like to find a way to blame some one else for their actions.

It's surprising how many people still think Bush was the President in 1998. I guess she could have listened to Bush back then, but why would she listen to the Governor of Texas.

Here's how I figure it went down: Clinton wanted to go into Iraq, but after putting us in Somalia, Kosovo, and Bosnia, he feared political reprisal for his party if he screwed up and ended up pulling us out after a day of fighting... again. So, he drafted the legislation to set it up for his buddy Al Gore. Then Gore went and lost the election. (Yes, he lost the electoral college, and thus, the election.)

What kind of democrat would Pelosi be if she didn't agree with the most popular democrat of all time? That would be political suicide.

So she is the one who put that idea in BJ Clinton's little head since the next day in 1998 he said:

"In the next century, the community of nations may see more and more the very kind of threat Iraq poses now -- a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction ready to use them or provide them to terrorists, drug traffickers or organized criminals who travel the world among us unnoticed.

If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity, even in the face of a clear message from the United Nations Security Council and clear evidence of a weapons of mass destruction program."

Kind of sick of hearing about this over and over again. Why did Bush lie? You just said she lied by stating he had these weapons correct. Well she didn't send us to a war based on this. Might want to find a new quote that he made and ask the same question.

To answer what you really want answered. If I recall, pretty much everyone knows that they were given false info. Therefore basing her views on her trusted given info, she didn't lie did she. She would be called a liar if she was the main source of the intelligence...you know kind of like the people Bush has put in charge...that would be an example.

I think she believed (as did most Americans) the President and did not think he would send the US to war over something that was not true. It turns out Bush lied people died and at least Pelosi is trying to put an end to it. I think Bush is to blame for lying not just to congress but to the American people. Perhaps Nancy could have checked the facts better, but she believed the "SLAM DUNK" argument

She wasn't lying. She was saying what she calculated that Americans wanted to hear. She is doing the same thing now. The only thing Pelosi wants to win is elections.

For the same reason she went to Basher in Syria and pretended to be secretary of state.. She is an idiot, and a liar who will do anything for power.

I love that you cited your source. Great job!

She managed to work herself into a corner. But, she could use the same excuse that Bush did: we relied on faulty information.

I'm just glad that she wasn't the president, 'cause she might have lead us into a quagmire in Iraq.

She lies because she is a Democrat politician. It's what they do.
