The power supply you listed in your link will work with either a 20 pin or 24 pin motherboard connection. The 4 pin segment just snaps off the connector on the PSU and dangles there if you don't need it.

A word of caution, though: If you have a P4 motherboard, don't mistakenly plug the 4 pin adapter segment into the P4 4 pin connector on the motherboard. There is a separate 4 pin connector that goes there. It's fairly obvious, but I had a client who fried his motherboard and new PSU by making this mistake!

The 20 +4 pin connector means you get a 20 pin main power connector plus a 4 pin block that is used to power the CPU on many motherboards. If you mean a 24 pin connector then you need an cheap adapter like the one found here: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1482751&CatId=1107

Just another 4 wire pigtail with a square connector. If you have no place to plug it, let it dangle. The extra power performs different functions on different brands of motherboard, but essentially provides more power for the modern boards in a more efficient configuration.

well if your PSU's motherboard connectors pry off and pry on then u cna use it but you can also get a 20-24pin connector adpater too for it or a 20-24 pin adapter so you won't have to buy a new PSU but it's nice to have a PSU with the extra 4pins that can snap on and off for your differnt PSU pin inputs
