The Clownfish will /not/ need an anemone. Anemones are very hard to care for, and if you have coral, they may end up stinging your precious corals. Clownfish will also sometimes nest in live corals, but anemones are definentally not necessary. They will do perfectly fine without one ^^

Clown fish will live quite happily without an anemone. They don't need one to survive, and anemones don't require clown fish, either.
On the whole, anemones are hard to keep in a saltwater tank, because they need higher intensity lighting than the standard lighting fixture will provide - I don't recommend anything less than a compact fluorescent. Anemones have a photosynthetic bacteria in their cells, which provide part of their food needs, so light quality is important to keeping them successfully.
Clowns and anemones also have a host-specificity, meaning only certain clownfish will use certain anemones, so you need to find that correct anemone for the type of clown you want to keep.
It's a lot easier to keep just the clowns!

I agree with Cat except that the PH. should be up around 8.3-8.4 because of the Anemone. Now your salt should be 1.022 right not 0.022? 1.022 is fine for clowns and is not its problem. As Cat stated your salt really should be from 1.023 - 1.025 because of the Anemone. It really depends on the Anemone as to if this is a problem for it. But you do need to adjust your PH. You can increase it to 8.0-8.1 by adding PH increaser . Let is sit for a few hours (I prefer 6 at least). Then increase it again to 8.3. You should allow your water temp to drop between 72 and 75 while making these changes. If your tank is at 75 now then just leave it. Now adding PH increaser might just be a temperary fix here. You might also need to add a PH buffer depending on your water source. Good Luck PK

No they don't need anemones nor a rearranged tank with hiding places. Clowns are agressive as is. Also, anemone are NOT difficult to care for, people just don't know how to care for them.
Adding an anemone does not guarantee the clowns will even use it. Having clowns makes careing for the anemone easier if they use him. The best way to care for your anemone is to direct feed it with a turkey baser and brine shrimp. Once a week will do. Like starfish. Just squirt the brine into the anemone and he will do the rest.
Your clowns will thrive just fine without it.

Clown fish do not need them if there are no other fish around, they have a mutalistic relationship, the anemonie protects the fish and the fish brings food for the anemonie (when someone is hunting the clown fish it hides in the anemonie and the anemonie shocks and kills and eats the other fish)

they can live with out but you'll need to give them something else in which they can hide, and scratch on, they have a natural slim to them so they will need to be able to scratch. the anemone would wipe them off in a way and also provide them a home... so if u cant get one right away just find something in which they could do theses things... good luck..

They could live without it, but then you'd have to add more hiding places to replace anenomes.
