I cannot load my OS. I don't know what to type. It is displaying "C:\>". What do I do? I have inserted the Windows 98 OS, but it's still asking me for the right file path. Help! I really would appreciate your expert answers.

What you are seeing is the DOS prompt which tells me that it recognizes the C drive (your hard drive). You have to know the drive letter where you are inserting the 98 disk. Try typing the drive letter followed by a backslash followed by "setup"(without the quotes). then hit enter.
If this doesn't work try typing cd\?: and hit enter. The ? is 98 disk drive. Probably A:
You should now have displayed A:\>
You can try typing SETUP here to start the process.
If that doesn't work try typing DIR/p and look for a directory name that might have SETUP.EXE in it. Maybe Win or Windows.
Setup is on that OS disk someplace and that will start the process. It's been awhile since I've dealt with a DOS problem but if the above ideas don't work maybe you can add some more details.

If you are attempting to load Win98 you need a Win98 boot disk. If is a floppy disk that boots the system so that 98 can load. The Windows 98 CD is not bootable. If you don't have a boot disk, go the http://www.bootdisk.com and download one. You must put the downloaded file on a clean formatted floppy, and then use that floppy to boot your system. It's easy. Put the boot disk in the floppy drive and the 98 CD in the CD drive and start your computer. The boot disk and Windows will walk you through the installation.
