depends on how old. always try changing his diet rather than things like karo syrup which works but that is so much sugar for a baby. Spinach/green baby food veggies are the best along with a jar of apples/prunes. If the baby has not started any solids yet ask the pediatrician. If the baby has rice cereal make sure its only small amounts b/c this can be constipating.

Sounds as though he is constipated for some reason. It could be dehydration or problems digesting formula if he is drinking it. I would call your doctor. My son has had problems with this his whole life and his doctor and I have tried many things that seem to work for a while but it always comes back. Right now he is drinking juice and a lot of it, 8 oz a day, the next step for us will be medication, only because he has gone through this for 8 months on and off. Before trying anything call he doctor and get there suggestion.

Every baby is different. For my little angel the Karo didnt work, the juice, brown sugar, or water didnt work either. We ended up having to give her a suppository then giving her three bites of prunes for a few days until we got her regulated again. We then started her on fruits and veggies, and cereal mixed with Pear juice. We had to start her on this at 4 months b/c she was having so much trouble. The best advice you can get is to call your Ped. to find out what he/she thinks you should do. Some docs are against certain methods, and have their own recommendations. Depending on the age of your child, I would still consult my doc first befreo trying anything I found on the web. Thats just me though :) Good luck!

Depends on how old the baby is. Giving a little diluted prune juice (1/2 & 1/2) should help out and is natural.

Give lots of fluids.....if baby is old enough, water down a tiny bit of juice with water to entice baby to take more. Offer as much as you can get baby to take, just go very easy on the juice if you use that. You can also try pedialite watered down, but do not give Gatorade or sports drinks.

How old is the baby and is the baby taking iron? If the baby is 6 mos or older you could increase water intake. Also try a little apple juice (for infants) and apple sauce. If this does not work, call your pediatrician.

Hi, We had the same problem with my grandson. The PED told us to add one oz of prune juice to every bottle. EW. But, it worked. Within one day he was pooping softer..no more rabbit turds. We have had to do this with at least two bottles a day since he started eating babyfood meat. When he ate just fruits and veges he was fine..but that meat...gave him pellets.

sugar water. start off with a small amount, about 2ozs and go from there i do 1/2 teaspoon for every 2ozs of water but my son was 7mos when i started giving it to him so for a younger baby u might try a smaller amount. if that does not work karo syrup, the light kind in the bottle or baby food, if not that prunes. after that doctor. hope this helps

Apple Juice.... If the baby is really young dilute it with water....Not to much to cause vomiting but Apple Juice seems to get the poops'a'coming.... If you baby is pooping nuggets ...sounds like dehydration... Pedialite is great for that....but you should make sure he/she is drinking enough water...Look up on webmd.com and see if they have any suggestions
