I'm in the Shoreline area and I like Sky Nursery better than Top Soil, also in this area. I mostly use Sky's fertile mulch, saw dust composted with manure. It never leaves slivers in my skin like bark and feeds the soil. They sell several soil mixes and grades of bark as well as Ceder Grove compost.
I've not used gravel but coarse sand and flag stone I got from Lake View in the U. Dist. They are just behind the U. Village.
Then rock by the ton I like Alpine in Woodinville. They have basalt at 5 cents per ton and they let you pick through and load what pieces you want. Bring a big pry bar to move the piles with.
