We were "officially" married by the town's mayor the day before our actual wedding day (October 28) but we had the big ceremony and stuff on the 29th. I don't even remember why. Our certificate shoes the date of marriage being October 29th. Does this mean the marriage isn't valid, or does it not matter? I'm trying to figure out what to do because we are going to start the divorce process, but wondered if this date issue would have any effect. I need to end this legally and as quickly as humanly possible since I'm supposed to get married July 22nd!! Help!!

Your legal wedding date is the one on the certificate.

I don't think it really matters but maybe you want to call your county clerk office or a lawyer to find out
