In the movie the Transporter, why did his car blow up? Was it the silver briefcase? Why did the guy who gave him the briefcase want to kill the transporter?

Yes, the silver Briefcase had a bomb in it. He wanted to kill him to keep the girl a secret.

the bomb was in the silver brief case and he wanted him dead cos he knew he had opened the package
