I've always been using my employer's notary public, who provided services free of charge. Now I need 7 sheets of paperwork certified by a notary public in Philadelphia. Could someone ballpark how much these services might cost me? I am completely clueless.

Fees for notaries public are set by the Secretary of the Commonwealth. A list of fees are provided by the Pennsylvania Department of State at: http://www.dos.state.pa.us/notaries/cwp/view.asp?a=1248&q=445063¬ariesNav=%7C

Sometimes, your bank will provide those services for free or for a minimal cost ($1 a page).

Also, most churches will have at least one staff member capable and if you go there, they surely will not charge you.

Those are the two sources I have used but I am sure there are others. A title company will always have a notary, but may charge a couple dollars for page if it is not related to a transaction being conducted there.

Good Luck.

It shouldn't cost you more than $7.00. My mom is a notary public and she charges 1.00 a page.

You can also go to your bank, and they may do it free of charge, but they will probably charge you a buck. I have an account with Wells Fargo, and that's what they charge (NM).

It'll cost about $25. You can get it done at any post office.

Not sure, but I have mine notorized at my bank and there is no charge. If you do have to pay, I would expect to pay about $10.
