Do you think that this leads to a general disrespect for the law? If protecting our borders which the constitution charges the feds with isn't enforced, is it logical to assume that normal legal cititzens will be less concerned with breaking laws that aren't mandated in the constitution, like income tax laws for instance?

The US needs the illegals very badly.

I don't think the government gives a tinkers dam about the immigration problem. They haven't done a thing in 50 years to stop it....Big business, corporations, agribusiness all need the cheap labor force.

And, guess what, they aren't going to do anything now except grant amnesty so the cheap labor force can stay here.

The only reason they make token statements about it is to keep the dopey Americans thinking they really care and are addressing the issue.

Yes, I do believe such because I see it every single day. Our city rounded up over 200 illegals and the INS did NOTHING. The INS released them all without so much as a look at any of them. The INS specifically said, "Sorry, we can't and won't do anything about the 200 illegals here."
