Hello or Hola

When I'm at work, I answer the phone by saying "(company name here), how can I help you?"

When I take the time to check my cell phone's caller ID, I usually answer with "Hey (insert name here)"

It depends. . . if the caller ID says it's a "PRIVATE" number, I just let it ring, and ring. . .. if it's a number with no name, same thing. If it's a name I don't know *sometimes* I answer it and ask who's calling (even though it's on the caller ID). If it's my husband, it's *big smile* and "Hi, honey!!!" (believe me, he can tell I am smiling). Or if it's an immediate family member, "Hi, (name)/ Mom/Dad!" If it's obviously a telemarketer sometimes I will say, "Sorry, not interested!" and hang up.

Good morning Marriott gift shop, Karina speaking!

Then a little bit of puke comes up because I realize I answered my house phone that way by accident

If it's to a friend: hey
If it's to a stranger: hello
If it's at work: Hello surgery, Tara speaking, how may I help you?
If it's in college: Hello, Lab 19, Tara here
If it's to my friend Colm: YARR AHOY THERE

...wow that was long.

hey!

and then if it's one of those automated telemarketers...I answer in a funny voice, and tell them that I would like to order several items from their company. I get 99% finished placing an order, and hang up.
