I would not suggest that you and friends play around with something that you have no knowledge about. Playing around with things of that nature can lead to serious repercussions. You don't want to conjure up spirits, and do something that you cannot reverse. I would suggest you and friends tell ghosts stories and keep the spell casting to those that know what they are doing. But that's just me.

If you truly want things to "pop" you need no spells or "stuff." Go to the cemetery bringing with you little light. Use the light to find the oldest of the gravestones. Stand for a minute or two looking down at the grave and visualize exactly what is just a few feet beaneath your feet. While knowing the fact that embalming is the law and those that do the embalming are not perfect and this can lead to some really strange and bizarre changes to a human body.

The Necronomicon has some really good spells however I doubt you could come up with the proper spell components as paper made from human skin is rare. Stop by your book store and check out the new age section or do a search for spells on line. By the way, as someone who has practiced witchcraft for over 20 years, I would warn you that what you are doing can be dangerous. I understand, I still like a romp through a grave yard every now and then myself but just make sure nothing follows you home.

I'm guessing you don't watch many horror movies. LOL. You don't really need to be trying to call something up, because in that case you are inviting something to come into your life. A good analogy would be that normally you lock your doors at night, what you are wanting to do would be like propping the door open and putting up a sign that says "Come On In".

Ariel Brigalow Moondust has a point. Do not mess with the dead, not even most witches and wizards do that. The dead should be left in peace. I hope you are not trying to raise or disturb any spirits, as that is necromancy and its a Dark Art (the branch of magic solely used for ill will or malevolence, magic itself is neutral; a mixture of good & bad. But the Dark Arts is pure malevolence full of despciable practices one of which is necromancy.) Simply because it is immoral to disturb those who have gone to rest before us. Also, one should never trifle with what one cannot truly grasp. Not all spirits are nice.

As an Occultist myself, I would also recommend against doing this. Here's an analogy. I have a friend who likes to call me at three in the morning when he's drunk. This usually really annoys me, since it wakes me from a sound sleep. The dead are like that, too. They don't tend to like being disturbed unnecessarily. And you don't want to be around spirits when they're in a bad mood. Your ancestors are different, to a point. I don't think the dead mind being disturbed too much if it's by one of their descendants, and there is a legitimate need. But walking into a cemetery and saying, "Hey, does anybody want to talk to us?" would be like a cheer leader walking through a maximum security men's prison. You would attract a lot of the wrong kind of attention.

Now, if you want to have spooky fun, I suggest passing around cold food items in the dark, like spaghetti, pealed grapes, raw hamburger, etc., and pretend they are body parts. That would be fun in a graveyard at night!

Go to the oldest grave. You and your friends should join hands, lower your heads and chant "Spirit of the Dead, arise and join us." But if you do this, be careful. Sometimes they take a soul. Be very careful.
