Hi. I'm thinking of getting a Nvidia Geforce with at least a 512MB graphic card but have some doubts on it. I'm using a P4P800 old motherboard. I wonder any1 out there who knows if my motherboard can support up to 512MB of graphic cards. If can, which graphic card is more recommended for it. Appreciate your soonest reply

Do not confuse system RAM on the motherboard w/ videoram on the graphics card. They are DIFFERENT.

Your motherboard should be able to handle a maximum of 4Gb of ddr400 in dual channel mode.

Also, your board has an 8X AGP graphics slot. It can handle a 16Mb to 512Mb AGP graphics card. But take note that 512Mb videoram is not always fully utilized in games. A 512Mb ddr2 card will always be beaten by a 256Mb ddr3 card. In 3D graphics (games), high clock rate (core and memory) is the name of the game.

YES! What, old! Well yeah, but we're probably talkin' 3.2GHZ with 800MHz FSB! That's what I'm runnin', and I walk away from most dual processor's. Check out Sysopt.com, or Tom's Hardware.com, or Extremetech.com for spec's on processors, an gamin'. Mine will support a 512MB vid card with ease!

No you will no longer be able to play those video games in any respect. you would be able to desire to have a shader-sort 3+ pictures card. final analysis is which you would be able to desire to enhance your pictures card, and you will play those video games. I reccommend an ATI Radeon 4670 (approximately $80) or in case you have the money you will get a 4870 (around $250). i think of you will play them with an FPS of around 25+ with the 4670 and above 50+ with the 4870. or in basic terms in basic terms get a 4670 and improve your Ram via 2gigs extra, and in case you have a 32-bit pc then in basic terms upload a million extra GB. That'll be all the enhancements you choose.
