Individual A states that their mistake was caused by
Individual B's mistake. This must imply Individual A's
incompetence in discerning Individual B's competence.
I often find myself making this alibi due to my hope that
I can actually trust someone, but more often than not
in the event of a mistake I should not have trusted.

Its always annoying when people don't take responsiblity for their actions.

I think it would be a lie. If it was truly a "mistake," it can be explained.
