Bought one last year that tripeled in size one year. However a heron had been coming around and I found him cut up on the lawn. That's what I get for naming him Sushi. I have a 1500 gal pond.

What a bummer! Heron are a real pain in the backside for ponds. You might try adding chicken wire around the edge of the pond for a little while, Herons don't like walking on it at all if you can suspend it a few inches off the ground. If it also covers about a foot of the water around the edge that will discourage the Heron as well.

chagoi are tame koi fish. they'll come to you and let you pet 'em if you came close. cute aren't they??
if you had trouble with the heron, try covering your pond with net, like the fisherman's net.
