This is kind of a twisted question, but all things being equal, I'll give you my response for your survey.
1) In view of the fact that there are today an estimated 18 million Jews in the world, and the Holocaust figures indicate approximately 6 million Jews being murdered, I would have to give Hitler and his goons a 33% efficiency rating.
2) In view of the fact that the Jewish peoples now have a homeland of their own (Israel) I would have to say non-effective as to the genocide of the Jewish population as a whole.
3) In my opinion the planning for such a horrific event can only be calculated based on the mindset of madmen, so therefore it can't be measured with any accuracy as far as planning such events go. But if history shows us anything about the fallacies of the plan by Hitler, Heydrich and Himmler, it is that no sane person or persons could ever expect to perform such atrocities and not be found out themselves. The "final solution" wasn't enacted until December of 1941. It was done out of desperation on the part of Hitler when he was faced with losses in Russia and the threat of the U.S. entering the war against him.
Until that time, the holocaust consisted mostly of murder being performed in the field by SS troops on the orders of Reinhard Heydrich. No documented "plan" per-se exists that clearly show details of what was discussed between Hitler, Goebbels, Himmler and Heydrich. So based on what we know from the facts presented at the Nuremberg Trials, it developed in progress and by trial and error.
This being said, I would have to give the "architects" of the planning a C - .

Do your homework pal!
Sadly the holocaust was very well planned, effective and efficient. People lived very close to some of these camps and were either to afraid to say or do anything about it or were for it completely. The secrecy, brainwashing, planning and execution of that mass genocide was horribly effective. There was plenty of resistance during WWII, but a couple wrong moves by the allied forces and the same thing could have ended up happening on the other side of the globe as well. The more you read about it....and everyone should....the more it should scare the hell out of anyone.

George O: "WHAT ABOUT THE 20 MILLION RUSSIANS
Does any count them
20 Million "
First of all, George, those 20 million are casualties of the SOVIET UNION, and as such, they represent people of many ethnicities and religious backgrounds, including 1 million Holocaust victims (sometimes exterminated with the eager assistance of Russian colloborators). Given Russia's long and well-documented history of ethnocentrism, it's funny how Jews, Armenians, Gypsies, Tatars, etc. suddenly become "Russian" when their numbers are needed to pad the casualties.
Second, the 20 million figure includes 10 million military deaths. Note that the term "Holocaust victim" applies only to Jews who were exterminated pursuant to the Final Solution. It does not include Jews who served in the military and died on the battlefield.
Nor does it include Jewish civilians who died from those consequences of war that applied equally to all -- namely, famine, bombings, and guerilla operations.
No one is denying that Russia suffered immensely. But only an anti-Semite takes the MENTION of the Jewish Holocaust as an insult.

As you gave no scale; i'll make up my own.
Nazi's took great pride in their planning. A blind man could see that. I'll give that a nine. Effectiveness lags a bit. There were no standards and everyone from the foot solder to the commandant choose to handle the matter at their own discretion, ranging from gentle to brutal. I'd give that a five. Efficiency mirrors the effectiveness, but the Nazi's also had a war to win, so that drags the score a bit. Three for efficiency.

Although I don't agree with the Holocaust, I do stand firmly in the belief that Hitler was perhaps one of the greatest leaders. He convinced millions that persecution was the way to go, and succeeded in murdering six million Jews. I don't know how well-planned the Holocaust was other than there were underground places where Hitler began building up an army. He was a brilliant man who managed to control a lot of people. Although I don't agree with him for doing it or anyone else for following it, there is no doubt in my mind that only a great leader could convince people to murder millions of people by way of concentration camps, gas chambers, or by guns. If the annihilation of over six million Jews is not considered effective, I don't know what is. He may have been crazy, but he was very good at making things go his way.

It was very well planned. They went about genocide in a very clever and efficient way. Jews didn't really put up a fight they thought they were going to live. It was very progressive and they just couldn't see it coming. If Hitler would have won he the history books would have applauded his well thought out extermination.
Thank god he did not...
The Holocaust went much more smoothly then the extermination of Native Americans. The US had many more casualties caused by the race being snuffed out.

From what I have read about it, and seen on TV, it sort of developed on its own. Yes people were rounded up and shipped off to concentration camps early in the Nazi regime, but the killing did not come right away. One source stated that most of the deaths happened toward the end of the war when food ran out and the victims starved to death. I don't know about that, it seems to offer some cover to the Nazis, but it makes sense. It was effective from the Nazis point of view, the Jewish populations of cities such as Warsaw were virtually obliterated.

As much as I hate to admit this, this tragedy was well planned in my opinion. By persuading the public that Jews and people with disabilities were a social problem, then implementing a plan to fix the social problem made Hitler seem like a hero when he proposed exterminating Jews and people with disabilities! The method he chose i.e. taking them to camps etc apparently was effective. Writing this give me creeps, I hope this helps your paper! Good luck!

The Holocaust was a tragedy that involved millions of innocent people. Efficient, effective are insults to those who had family or friends affecting by this tragedy. The Holocaust was neither efficient of effective it was simply misguided people killed innocent people.

The effect of the holocaust was terrible how could somone kill someone just because they werent blonde hair blue eyed germans how could you kill someone in just a second because you disliked them you would kill thousands of people because you didnt like someone and how could you kill your own mother because she was jewish thats what adolf hitler did but there was a guy who was german and risked his life saving jewish people he was known as shindler if i spelt that correctly he had a list of jews that could do things for him and they wouldnt get killed which is way better than what concentration camps were like he said many jews but a lot were killed and if you stayed in one big group they would leave you alone but they would take you one by one into a gas chamber. here is a story i heard from a holocaust surviver "one morning i woke up in a concentration camp i couldnt find my mom or dad or brothers and sisters i asked the nazis where my family was? he pointed to a building with smoke coming out of it. "my eyes filled with water as i knew they were dead they been straped on to a board a been burn to death alive" i fell to the ground and didnt eat for days but i knew my family would want me to escape from this terrible place so i did i made it through to make my parents proud. that was from a movie i saw i will list some movies to see that will tell you a lot of information.
