Just keep baking soda and scented candles in the house and keep things clean? Is that all I can do? Any other advice??? Please.

Some people are getting the wrong idea...the house isn't totally funky. I have just lived in new homes previously and this one has this old smell that I have been told may be caused by the dirt crawl space. I just think the house smells faintly like an old person.

Hire someone to go into the crawl space just to make sure an animal didn't get trapped down there and die, I've never heard of dirt crawl spaces being so smelly they stink up the whole house. If that doesn't work try a dehumidifier. and if that doesn't work candles, potpourri, and air fresheners are going to be your best friends until you move.

Longer lasting solution would be to treat the problem rather than the effect. Cover the dirt with 6 mil plastic sheeting. Seal any joints with tape. This will also reduce moisture.

Before you can remove the odor, you’ll have to get into the crawl space and inspect for plumbing leaks. Also look for excessive condensation - See more at: http://www.miconstruguia.com/en/crawl-space-odor/

You can put orange peels and lemon peels through out the house maybe in the window. The citrus would pull in the odor.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON CHEAP CANDLES, GO WITH THE TRIPLE SCENTS THEY WORK REALLY WELL, ALSO YOU COULD TRY A GOOD PLUG IN AIR FRESHNER, OR ONE THAT IS AUTOMATIC, THOSE KEEP THE HOUSE SMELLING GOOD, AND YOU CAN PUT THEM ON A TIMER, TO SPRAY

Get a dehumidifier, humidity may be causing the scent to linger.
