Also, Jennifer Hudson did not win, she was bnooted, proving that the show is not exactly a compass of talent there.

Chris Daughtry seems to be doing alright.
And Carrie Underwood isn't doing badly either.
I like them both. And I like Kelly, of course. Oh, and what about Jennifer Hudson and her OSCAR?? That doens't sound too shabby to me.

Well Clay made a slight name for himself and Rueben has done well in the R & B and Gospel section. He won a couple awards and his new album is pretty cool. Fantasia is doing EXCELLENT I really love her. Kelly Clarkson is probably the only type of music you're into. You don't know about the many accomplishments of the R & B singers. Carrie Underwood is doing pretty good. She was nominated for lots for Country awards. Daughtry has a platinum CD out right now. Jennifer Hudson is winning all types of lovely awards. So no Kelly isn't the only one making it big. I think this season was a GIANT waste of time because that stupid prick Blake is in the finale. But hey thats just me..

I voted for Melinda three times and Blake twice.
I am angry and cannot believe America cannot see someone who has a talent like Melinda. I am not going to watch the final next week because I do not care who wins now. Melinda was the best from day one. Tonight is the last time I will ever watch American Idol again. This season has not been a far season. Some of the best singers were voted off in the beginning. If I had to choose I would hope Blake would win, but it will be Jordin.
I now see American Idol as a popularity contest. America only votes for the ones who think are hot(good looking) this season.

Actually, quite a few have done well. Carrie Underwood is bigger than Kelly Clarkson. There are also several male vocalists that have albums now, but they aren't as unique. The first step to a record deal is being seen and heard. The next is to keep it going and have the right song mix.

I think that Carrie Underwood from a few years ago is just as good as Kelly Clarkson, if not better...and she's a sweetie. I used to be a HUGE fan but honestly, now, it's beginning to lose its appeal for me. I rarely watch now. You are right, last years idol and the one before that haven't gone very far.

Look at what happen with Jennifer Hudson, winning an Oscar.
Tamyra Grey has been acting in movies.
So yes, some people has had success after idol.

I agree, Kelly Clarkson and maybe the Underwood girl are the only 2 good ones. I cant stand the show, i've had enough of it.
