a mix of both, I'd guess. I hate it when people aren't allowed to grieve, and they're supposed to put on a happy face the entire time. I also don't like to be down the entire time. I feel like it can be overwhelming.

Good question. Well, I already know what song I want to play at my funeral. "Nobody Loves Us" by Morrissey. (long story) I would want it to be upbeat, but I'm sure everyone there would make it a somber funeral. And I'll be dead, so I won't even know if they'll accept my wishes for the funeral, which will suck. No crying allowed. Bring pinatas!

I would like it to be upbeat but lets be realistic it`s a funeral and most are depressing and somber so I doubt mine would be any different and it would be out of my control.

I already requested my husband to hire some munchkins to sing "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead" at my funeral complete with the coroner munchkin singing "she isn't only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead."
So I guess that would be upbeat. I want to go out on a laugh, not a cry-fest, because my life has been filled with laughter and humor. I have been lucky that way.

I try not to think about it. I will be cremated and tossed back into nature. There is no reason for a funeral, nobody gets to see me much while I am alive. Of course that could always change but for the time being lets say, my life has evolved into uncharted waters. It is like a movie where one of the leader roles was injured and he is almost dead. After being gone for a while nobody seems to miss him anymore, this is me right now.

Upbeat! I mean, sure people may miss me, but I want them to have fond memories of my life, not depressing ones. I hope that when I'm gone, those close to me can celebrate all I achieved in life and perhaps even be inspired to live life to the fullest while they still have a chance.

Upbeat. I'm leaving the pain behind and going home!! I want upbeat songs played and I want the guests to send pictures and write down memories for my kids. Weee on the posies, never get any now...don't want them when I'm dead. I don't want to be 'shown'...I want to donate my body to science or be cremated.

If my kids insisted on a funeral, defiantly upbeat. I have given all my parts to science and wish to be cremated.
