Your rthernet connection is the NVidianForce MCP Net and that is what you would connect your high speed internet modem or router to.

The 1394 net adapter is your computers firewire adapter and can be used to connect a camera or external hard drive that uses the firewire interface.

Ethernet is an RJ-45 connector, which looks like a larger phone plug (RJ-11). The 1394 (firewire) is not Ethernet. The NVIDIAnForce MCP would be the Ethernet connection if it has a wider phonejack looking connector.

1394 is commonly known as firewire. NVIDIA card is the lan card.
