It took him too long to make an apology but his gesture is a sign that he regretted. The gain you have is at least you did not lost a friend.

Yes...
my sister hurt me many times
and years later wrote a letter of appology
and I accepted , because it was the past and
I moved on and I thought it would help her move on...

yes, my best 'friend' did that to me. she's one of those people that doesn't ever think she could be wrong about anything. she's never apologized to me, nor do i think she ever will. i guess she wasn't that much of a 'friend' after all.
