Yes, I have visited the country numerous times, and to various destinations too. I have found that each part of the country has something different about it, a unique character. From the 'capitalist dream' of New York, the hippified San Francisco, the creolised New Orleans, the laid-back Caribbean attitude of Miami, or the sheer neon-lit bizarreity of Las Vegas.
There is no smoke without fire, and indeed some of the stories about American ignorance and arrogance are true, but I have never really experienced this myself. The Americans I have met have always been polite, friendly, helpful, generous, cultured and really good company.
Accentuate the good points, disbelieve the bad.

I have visited the USA many times and do think it is a most wonderful country but unfortunately it is one that has been spoilt by successive American political leaders who have placed a curse on it by their greedy actions to dominate the rest of the world.

I am PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I'd worked for all my life
and I had to start again
With just my children and my wife
I'd thank my lucky stars to be living here today
Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away.
Chorus: And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today.
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land.
God bless the U. S. A.
From the lakes of Minnisota
To the hills of Tennesse
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shinning sea
From Detroit down to Houston
From New York to L. A.
There's a pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say
Chorus: And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today.
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land.
God bless the U. S. A.
Chorus: And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me.
And I gladly stand up next to you
And defend her still today.
Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land.
God bless the U. S. A.

Yes I do , I fought for our country in the war in the middle east and it made me proud to know that I did my part to keep the trash where they belong.

personally i go twice a year to see my son who lives there and love it, i love the people who are much more polite than us unfortunatley, but there really is not much to do and see as here in England, and visiting Egypt or Israel was wonderful and i would go back but spend my money going to see my lad in the States instead.
