I have a TL 01 and its been great with no problem but you should figure out do you need a Car or a SUV. The RDX is cute but it just came out in 06. The TL debuted in 1996 meaning most of the bugs have already been worked out. Are you worried about gas prices? SUV always eat more gas anyways...
Good Luck

Well here's the deal. The TL is faster, and quieter. The RDX is brand new, meaning it could still have some bugs.
I think you are wrong about the equipment, if you get the tech package, the RDX has just about everything the TL has except no memory seats and no vent in the back. But with the tech package you get a better stereo in the RDX (slightly more power), not that the one in the TL is a disappointment by any means.
They are both great cars. I've driven them both and own a TL. But for me the kicker is this: Within the next 12 months the TL will be replaced with a new model. This means that if you buy one now it is going to look dated very soon. This would be the deal breaker for me right now. Dated looking cars, depreciate faster. Of course on the flip side as the time approaches for the new body shape their could be some deals around on the old shape.
The RDX is more expensive to buy and service, but it does have a more advanced navigation system that the TL.

Get the TL. It's a sporty luxury sedan, with good power, Acura reliability, and great looks. My cousin has a 6 speed 07 TL and loves the car, and the only change that he would make is to get a Type S (turbo). The RDX is an ok car, but for a first car, especially since you're young, I would go for the sportier sedan, even though the insurance may be more expensive.

i like them both for different reasons. Out of all the small-ish SUV's on the market, the RDX is great. Though most people will tell you it is a suped up Honda CRV. Which is probably the truth. It handles very well. Has all the nice acura touches.
The TL, of which I own a 2004 model, is by far one of my most favorite cars I have had. I have owned the CL & old integra as well. It is roomy enough for people and gets great freeway miles. I can drive from SF to LA virutally on one tank of gas (it gets 30 mpg freeway).
It just boils down to whether you want an SUV or sedan. I don't like SUV's so I probably would pick the TL.

Both are great cars, I think you should see if you need a SUV or a car. RDX is very nice but this is the first year it is out, and TL been around for a while, meaning most of the bugs have already been worked out.

unless you are going off road, get the tl, it is better on gas mileage by far. i don't know about you, but looks like gas prices aren't coming back down any time soon, if ever.
