No no NO! I am a giant Queen fan, and there is no one on the PLANET that could replace Freddie. Freddie was so special. That VOICE. The moves. Freddie Mercury was such a brave person. He never told anyone (except maybe Brian May and the rest of the members of Queen) about his AIDS, and he died with dignity. I had also heard he had left a good sum of his money to his cats, which I loved. (the song, "Delilah" on "Innuendo" is about his favorite cat) I will always love and respect Freddie, and Paul Rogers is NO Freddie Mercury, no way, no how!

NO ONE can ever replace Freddie. But, Paul Rogers is certainly a respectable attempt. He's a legend in his own right too. It's more like he's paying respect to an old friend when he sings with Queen.

Queen is like so many of the Stadium Rock bands from back in the day; playin' the golden oldies because it beats trying to be creative ever again. It is now a touring band for nostalgia purposes - only - a gig that was masterfully done for years by the Beach Boys.

The Rolling Stones get hammered by many people for still touring, but at least they are in the studio creating new music.

Mercury would only be "replaced" if new studio CD's were outselling the old stuff.

Paul is great. But he is no Freddie. They did it for $$$$. Who can blame them. they have the right to work. Plus, it's not like Freddie died and Paul stepped in a month later. The guy died in 91. I'm okay with what they are doing and how they did it.

They may produce stuff that is good, but NO ONE can sing like Freddy Mercury. His voice was amazing, from subtle to powerful, operatic to rock. Freddy Mercury was a gifted singer, a unique talent. Because he was recorded, the world sounds sweeter.

i think of Freddie became into larger than the band, yet he did no longer prefer it that way. He even stated in interviews that there became into no chief, that all of them 4 have been equals interior the band. whether he enjoyed it or no longer however, Freddie became into the single project that stored Queen interior the spotlight. no longer undemanding to declare if he could have been as extensive on his own. They have been all in bands faster or later earlier Queen, yet so some distance as i understand those bands have been on no account enormous. i think of Roger and Brian could have been consultation adult males, perhaps breaking out into some thing larger. i might wager that Freddie might have made it, his skills is elementary. i could no longer say for particular, besides the shown fact that it may well be a secure wager that Freddie might have long gone directly to important issues with out them. John Deacon in all probability could have been in simple terms superb on no account being in a band, he on no account particularly enjoyed the spotlight anyhow.

not with paul rogers they can`t!!! nothing against him, because he`s a good singer, but his style just doesn`t mesh with queen all that well...in my eyes, the only vocalist who even came close to replacing freddie was robbie williams, as evidenced by his cover of "we are the champions" (brian & roger played on the recording) from the movie "a knight`s tale"...

well that's a dumb question. NO offense, but no man could evr replace him. Even if he was better, the band would just never be as good.
