What freedoms did you not have before the invasion that you have now that we're occupying Iraq? In what way has your life become more free? BE SPECIFIC.

For those who don't understand the question... we invaded because Iraq was a threat to our freedom, according to your claim that this war is "protecting" our freedom. Therefore, that threat must have meant that our freedoms were either taken away or were in danger of being taken away. So... WHICH FREEDOMS? Why can no one answer a simple question? What was Saddam going to take from me?

The war in Iraq has NOTHING to do with protecting our freedoms at all. No matter what anyone else says to the contrary--Iraq was never a grave threat to this nation from Day 1.

That's just the party line they feed to the masses knowing full well that most of the repubs will believe anything Bush and Cheney say. You should watch the PBS Frontline on telephone spying going on. It also put a light on the testimony of Gonzales before congress.

We have lost many of the freedoms our forefathers died to give us. And people just don't seem to care. The media is not permitted to show the coffins of the dead soldiers. We take prisoners and ship them to Gitmo where we torture and even kill them, again no press allowed. Our country is in a sorry state right now and I pray that we can get someone in office who can undo the damage Bush and Cheney have inflicted on the constitution.

I feel much freer. I switched from boxers to briefs and....man...what a difference. But seriously, the war and occupation in Iraq have made the world a much more volatile place.

Those Jihadists who have sworn to kill Americans are concentrated in Iraq. Better there than here. No, we are not MORE free. But it has been six years since we've been attacked on home soil. When is the next attack? It is going to happen but on whose watch?

Seems to me that we've lost some freedoms. The patriot act made sure of that.

We removed a dictator who wanted to make and use chemical and biological weapons on the US. We are free from yet another potential attack. We are not completely free, but much closer.

It is not an issue of getting more freedoms, but getting closer to more freedoms. It is a road, not a destination

The war in Iraq is PROTECTING our freedom. Don't you feel safer now that Saddam isn't going to invade?

Your question, itself, is phrased "protects our freedom". The word protect means "to keep safe, to preserve". It does not mean " to create". We don't have new freedoms. We have the same freedoms we had before. There are people who want to take those freedoms away. So far, they have not. I'd say the war is working.

I am free to go to work in a tall building with very little worry of terrorists flying a plane into it, killing me, my co-workers, my child in daycare downstairs, and thousands of innocent people along with us.
