They make nothing and are tied to a pretty hefty contract with American Idol for tours and apperances once the show is over.

it really all depends on what kind of record deal they are offered once they're off the show.. but i htikn that while they're on the show, they make money too cuz they do all those Ford music video commercials.. but im not too sure,, =]

I would guess that they don't make anything but get everything they need paid for?!
