I had to read that book in 4th grade. So I wasn't very inspired at age 9. But then I read it again recently and liked and understood it a lot better. I wouldn't say it inspired me, but I do really like the book.

That was the only book that I read more than once in my life, it didn't really inspire me, but it was a wonderful story.

No, but it is one of the best novels ever written. The book is one of a select few that I enjoyed reading for school.
