If you have a usb port go to www.buythetornado.com this is the easiest I have EVER used. Plug in to usb ports & it displays contents of both hard drives in about 5 seconds (no kidding) then just drag & drop no software to buy either. I burned all my cables

Set aside 3 years, use a floppy to copy the files.
If you have network cards on both PC, use a crossover cable.
If you have a router, use that to create a simple network.
If you have a CDrewriter on the 98 machine, use that

The new system (XP or VISTA) has a files and settings transfer wizard that makes it real simple... just follow the steps the wizard gives you.

The fast way, is to copy all your document into a CD, but if you have internet. You can use messenger by sendig your files.
To do that, you need two acounts.
