I have an old Black & Decker jig saw with an oil hole. Thanks!

edit: Thanks for all of the responses. I'll definitely be good to go now. Although, I did just notice there are two oil holes!

Any further advice on a recommended amount of oil or any suggestions on how often I should apply the oil going forward would be appreciated.

I think yer lookin for 3-in-1 oil. It comes in a tiny little can, and you should be able to find it in any hardware store. You can use any kind of light weight oil, though, but 3-in-1 is so much easier, because the container has a little tip on it, just for this type of application.

If it's on the motor I would use 20 weight oil. At the bushings or wear point I would use a thin oil like 3 in 1 oil. 3 in 1 makes a 20 weight motor oil and also the thinner all purpose oil.
Either would be better that no oil at all.

Usually a non-detergent light weight oil. Electric supply or furnace supply houses also have small bottles of electric motor oil. Probably like 3 in 1

It all depends on what kind of tool it is.Air or electric, hydraulic. If it is used in food prep.We need more info to tell you the correct information. If you go to Home Depot or Lowe's in the tool section you will find oil for air tools or what ever you have.If you need food grade for say a slicer you can get that at a restaurant supply place. Good luck.

Try that 3-n-1 oil in the squirt can. It is a light motor oil for exactly that purpose.

20 weight oil is best. Sewing machine or regular 3 in 1 is too light. 3 in 1 company sells small cans of 20 weight motor oil, too. It;s in a blue can- I bought mine at Walmart in the auto chemical section.

Motor oil should be just fine, I have used it for decades on bearings, gears, and just about anything with a moving part.
