As someone who has actually been to Astoria, many times, and for whom Astoria is on our short list of places to retire to, I can tell you that winters are generally gray and wet, with occasional light snow, esp. in the hills, but very little, and it doesn't last long as a rule. If you want to see snow or be around snow, you don't have far to go, up into the Coast Range a few miles.

Astoria is a wonderful little town! Quaint, friendly, beautiful ... but that is just my opinion! :)

(P.S. ... we generally go to Astoria in Sept when the weather is at its best ... but have been there in all seasons.)
