Well jerkicus the first part of your name describes you to a T. Why would you encourage anyone to do that? It is a crime and I hope if you do it you spend a long time in prison. Do you think you are some sort of a God who should determine who lives or dies. Maybe you should consider suicide as an answer to your problem.

You could be charged with assisting a suicide which is illegal.

The person committing suicide however has broken no laws, they have however broken mental health standards and thus can be locked in a psych hospital (assuming they live).

I suppose you could, if it could be shown (and proven) that you put some sort of undue pressure on them. For example, if I convinced you to kill yourself because I had a gun to your head, I would probably be found legally responsible.

Now, this question is in the law and ethics section, and I think it goes without saying that ethically, you're just as responsible for the person's death. In my personal view, you would be even more responsible for "convincing" them.

It really sounds like your friend is just reaching out and needs your help.

Why would you help convince someone to commit suicide? Yes you can be an assessory to murder. That is what it is. You should have prayed for them or tried to get them help. If they did die, I hope you pray to God for forgivness.

Yes, and why would anyone do that? I don't know how a person could live with themselves after convincing someone to end their life.

Yes, you are an accomplice to the crime. I'm not sure what the exact legal punishment is, but you should also be severely beaten about the head and neck with a blunt object.

Dear God, what kind of fresh he11 question is this?

I'm not an attorney or a policeman--but I fervently hope the answer is YES.

God I hope this is a trolling question. If not, it is an all time new low on YA.

I would think that would be damned hard to prove. Especially considering the person is no longer alive to testify whether or not they were influenced by the arguments of others.
