When I shopped for flooring about a year ago it was $2.50/sq ft including installation. So, $360.00.

A 12X12 Kitchen isn't that big. Go with what you can find at Home Depot or Lowes, I prefer at Home Depot. I've had some "passing the bucks" at Lowes, between them and Armstrong with some of their tile. They don't seem to want to back it up.
Anyway, after all the years, Home Depot is the best. And, do not use plywood for a backing. Use cement board, 1/4 inch and level-set. I didn't know anyone used plywood anymore?
Good luck.

Best advice I can give as a homeowner your square footage is so small you should go with what you like not by price. Remember you will see it everyday. Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and look for what you like. When I did my Kitchen I went with peel and stick. This flooring is cheaper and alot easier to install then sheet vinyl. Inside the box will have installation manual. If you use peel and stick you can just cover your existing floor just use a good floor cleaning chemical for preparation of installation.

the others gave good advice, so i'll just offer a word of caution. how old is the linoleum? if you don't know, have it checked for asbestos!! your old flooring could have asbestos in the backing and the adhesive that glued it down. prior to the 1980's asbestos was widely used in construction materials as a cheap filler. in tearing up the old floor you could risk every ones health in the household. it might be a better option to just cover it with the new flooring. you can repair any cracks or missing areas with leveling compound products after securing any loose edges. in cases of extreme damage, you may have to cover the floor with a 1/4" underlayment plywood first, to achive a smooth surface, before you start laying the tiles. good luck, proceed with caution.
