As a young person, I was a volunteer at the City's Recycle Station.
As a young adult, I was a volunteer at the City's Art Center giving demos, tours, and teaching arts & crafts to 5 year-olds.
As an Adult, I was a volunteer at a Private Nursing Home for the Elderly doing things like passing out Lunch/Dinner trays, helping folks to/from the eating area/activity center. I would also visited several Residents who had no family.

Volunteer my time for Community events involving Deaf Culture. Helps me practice sign language, I meet new people, and I always have a great time!
Mostly I volunteer as a Spanish/ASL interpreter, for experience.
