Because there are so many models, you may have to order the manual from Kenmore. Their phone number is 1-800-349-4358. Also, you can go to sears and click on part and accessories and put in the part number. It will show you a diagram. Here is the diagram:

Do you have the instruction manual? Snapping threads are oftentimes led to by using: --misthreading --undesirable needle --too heavy an larger stress (something around 4 is favourite) --snags on the thread direction -- undesirable thread Time for some detective artwork. i'd start up with a sparkling needle, larger stress at 4 and a sparkling spool of respectable high quality thread like Gutermann, Mettler, Madiera, improved... that is usually a stable thought to bathe the device (brush and vacuum, no longer compressed air) and oil (stitching device oil only, no longer 3 in a million or WD40 form oils) in keeping with the instruction manual previously you initiate off troubleshooting.

Go to Sears.com and click on "parts and accessories". Put in the model number and it will give you an option to look at parts lists or parts diagrams. If you look at the diagram, it will show you the parts in the tension assembly and the order they go in.
