No, I think it is rather gentle as such things go. I am an American, and I know we do have a tendency to want to grab the center stage.
However, I should think long-windedness would be an advantage when the alternative is death.

well, it's definitely not funny, i really don't get the humor in it or even the humor INTENDED....i don't know if i'm ignorant or the supposed joke is ignorant, i do know it's tasteless.
