Do I need to replace a light fixture in one room or can I leave it bare. I mean I removed a chandelier to take with me to my next place, but the wires are exposed. Do I need to replace that light fixture with another or not?

Not only do you need to replace the fixture, but you MAY be required to return the fixture you took with you. Depending on the language used in the offer to purchase, (assuming that this chandelier was not called out specifically in the offer as something you intended to keep) the new owner has a right to that chandelier, since it is considered a permanent fixture and was part of what the seller viewed when making the offer to purchase.

Bear in mind that any listing contract you signed, and any comments you made to your real estate agent about retaining the chandelier, have NO effect on the offer submitted by the buyer. If no specific exclusion in the offer to purchase was made by the buyer and you agreed to the offer to purchase, the chandelier belongs to the new owner.

Unless it is specifically stated in your purchase and sale, you must replace the fixture. Anything that is mounted to the house is considered part of the sale, such as custom mini blinds, light fixtures, dishwashers, stoves, etc.
