The thigh, or femur, bone is one of the largest in the human body. It is closely followed by the pelvic bone as the next largest in the body. After that comes the skull minus the jawbone, as the jawbone is a separate bone structure from the skull despite being a part of the skull's make-up. Ironically, the smallest bones in the human body are located in the inner ear for both hearing and for balance.
