I agree with the post that baseball needs to contract 4-6 teams. There was once a time where if your ERA was over 4, you would be pitching in the minors. Between 3 & 4, you were back of the rotation. Last years NL Cy Young winner had an era of 3.10! Bartolo Colon won in 2005 with 3.48!
That said, if you can't hit it, you can't score. Look at your last 6-7 world series winners. All had great pitching staffs.

As a die hard fan....id say pitching. Alot of offense is better for baseball cause it brings the casual fan more excitement. The casual fan isnt gonna like a 2-1 game live when they go to the ballpark. Im taking a casual fan to a game in a couple weeks and i want her to see some scoring cause its more interesting!
